Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Childcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess the skills necessary to create a safe, engaging, and educational environment. This role involves supervising and caring for children, ensuring their well-being, and fostering their development through various activities. The candidate will have a shared passion of health and wellbeing, and help children learn to prioritise there own health. The Childcare Assistant will be responsible for managing daily routines and communicating effectively with both children, parents and other staff.

Responsibilities

Supervise and engage with children in a before and after school setting, ensuring their safety at all times. Implement age-appropriate activities that promote health and wellbeing and development. Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their social skills and emotional growth. Manage daily routines, including meals and activities. Maintain a clean and organised environment conducive to children's play and learning. Collaborate with parents to discuss children's progress and address any concerns. Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages children's curiosity and creativity.

Requirements

Proven experience in childcare and proven passion for health and wellbeing. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour. Leadership qualities to guide children in group settings effectively. A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development. A valid driving licence may be required for transportation purposes (if applicable). Knowledge of safeguarding practices in childcare is an advantage.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.50-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 25 per week
