Job Description

Our community setting is seeking to appoint an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team. The successful candidates will be passionate about working with children and their families and celebrating diversity and inclusion. They will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills. Above all they will be patient and kind and enjoy creating a happy and fun play and learning environment for our children both indoors and out!

We are a term-time only setting and are open from 8.00am - 5.00pm. The post will be Monday - Friday, hours to be discussed. Candidates

must

have the flexibility to suit the setting needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Setting Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and working as part of a professional team. Being key person for a group of children. Observing and assessing the children's development Keeping adequate written and typed records and using the knowledge gained to plan for further learning and development. Ensuring children are kept safe by understanding Safeguarding requirements and following child protection policies and procedures. Working as part of a team but also using their own initiative, to prepare and set up stimulating and inspiring environments, activities and experiences to support and develop children's individual learning. Communicating on the progress, outcomes and wellbeing of children with the room leader, Manager and parents. Interacting with and talking to children to promote Communication and language development. Interacting with and supporting children to promote Personal, Social and Emotional development. Developing relationships with parents, carers and other professionals and maintaining effective communication with them. Caring for, cleaning and maintaining our quality resources and environments. Having a positive and proactive attitude to continuing professional development.

Essential Qualifications:

Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification

Desirable Qualifications & Training

Safeguarding in the Early Years Communication & Language SEND ACES Prevent Duty Online Safety Paediatric First Aid Food Safety & Hygiene Food allergy and intolerance online training

Essential experience:

Experience of working in Nursery and preschool is essential. Excellent knowledge of Safeguarding & child protection A thorough understanding of the EYFS A thorough understanding of planning for learning and next steps Good ICT skills and experience of online Learning Journals

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check

We are a registered charity and deliver

term-time only

provision. Wages are paid pro-rata over 52 weeks.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 12.25-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
