Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Practitioner to join our after school club team. Hours are 20 per week. The hours are school term time only, however you will also be expected to work for at least 1 week during Easter holiday and 1 to 2 weeks during the summer holidays for children's holiday clubs. Your pay is pro rata - 38 weeks per year plus mandatory holiday pay up to 28 days per year and you are also paid overtime for holiday club during Easter and Summer.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and have the relevant childcare qualifications at level 3 or HNC, OR be highly willing to work hard whilst working at the after school club to gain the relevant qualification. T

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare within a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring the well-being and development of children under their supervision. Experience in nursery settings, early childhood education, schools, after school clubs or youth clubs, is highly desirable, alongside excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities



Deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote children's development and learning Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being Manage daily routines including snack times, structured activities and free play sessions Foster a nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, and cognitive growth Lead and organise group activities, supporting children's individual needs Maintain accurate records of children's interests through written observations. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's day and any concerns Support team members in managing daily operations and organisational tasks Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements



Proven experience with children, is preferred within nursery or early childhood education settings , however training can be provided for the ideal candidate and you would be expected to attend college on a part-time basis to gain the relevant qualification whilst working at the after school club.. Good leadership skills is beneficial to oversee groups of children and support team members Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Childcare qualifications, or relevant experience in early childhood education are highly advantageous. We can offer the relevant on the job training and you would need to be willing to complete the S.V.Q Level 3 Childcare Qualification over a 2 year period. Knowledge of childcare practice, child development stages, and health & safety standards is helpful however on the job training can be offered. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment Compassionate, patient, organised, with a genuine passion for childcare and supporting and understanding children are very important qualities.

Pay: 10,000.00-13,000.00 per year
