Hours

- 20 //23 hours per week (term time). Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 14:30-6:00pm, 11:30am to 6pm on Fridays (After School Club).

Overtime may be available.

Hours will differ during school holidays, Any shift pattern between 7:30 am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

Purpose of Job:

To provide a service compatible with good practice in the care of children, within our policies and procedures, and systems laid down by the Care Inspectorate.

Be able to build positive relationships with children in our care and their families. An understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality. You will undertake training as required and be committed to continuous personal learning and development. You must register with the SSSC within 3 months of your start date You will follow Burgh's, policies and procedures relating to your own health and safety and that of staff and service users at all times You will uphold the principles of Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities policies at all times, working in a way which supports an inclusive work environment that is respectful of differences.

Tasks:

To assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment adjusting for all children To provide comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to the club and then to parents or carers at the end of the day. Provide snacks and refreshments, ensuring that hygiene and health and safety standards are met, including the wearing of appropriate PPE. Assist children with personal care where necessary. To administer first aid to the children when necessary. Involve the children in planning activities. Helping with club administration, where necessary. Facilitating good communication with all members of the team, parents, schools and childcare and play related agencies. Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure. Supporting students and volunteers. Taking on duties/tasks as delegated by the Club Manager.
