Friars Centre Playgroup is delighted to invite you to apply to join our wonderful team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and creative person to work in our pre-school room. This position would be a full time position, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.30 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. all year round. (closure at Christmas) . They must have a strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.

Duties

Provide attentive and personalised care to children, ensuring their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being. Plan and implement engaging activities that promote early childhood development and learning. Supervise children during play, meals, rest periods, and educational activities. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones. Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss children's needs and progress regularly. Manage daily routines efficiently, including organising activities that support physical, social, and cognitive growth. Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organisation within the childcare setting. Proven experience with children, including childcare or nursery experience. Strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with children, parents, and colleagues. Experience working with children with special needs or additional support requirements is advantageous.
You will also be supported by a team of knowledgeable staff alongside other outside agencies. Friars Centre Playgroup is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children. Applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and register on the update service if not already using the service.
