Little Sprouts Childcare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childminder Assistant to help with the day to day running of the setting and help to provide a warm, engaging and nurturing environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and be able to engage young children through imaginative activities. Previous experience in a childcare setting is desirable, however full training will be given for the right candidate, so this is not a requirement.
Please note this is a temporary role to cover sickness for the Autumn term 2025 only (8th September to 19th December 2025).
Provide attentive care to children ensuring their safety and well being at all times.
Assist with maintaining a clean and organised environment for the children, including tidying up after activities and mealtimes.
Engage children in a mix of child and adult led play and structured activities to best promote their early learning.
Ability to educate children through play-based learning.
The ability to connect with children and be responsive to their strengths, likes or dislikes.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and raise any concerns appropriately.
Prepare meals and snacks for children where appropriate.
Various administration and ad-hoc duties as and when required.
Enhanced DBS is an advantage although not essential.
Paediatric First Aid is an advantage although not essential.
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Previous childcare experience is a bonus but not essential.
Car driver is preferred but not essential.
Hours to be 8am to 4pm Monday and Tuesday with potential for additional hours to cover sickness where required.
