We are looking to appoint a
Childrens and Young Persons Senior Therapist
to support the ongoing development and delivery of an effective and comprehensive therapeutic service to children and young people (7-18) who are affected by or have witnessed parental drug or alcohol use.
Part Time Hours:
30 hours a week
Full Time Salary Range:
36,183.91 - 38,175.15Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities:
About the role:
Support the ongoing development and delivery of West Sussex Children and Young Person's Therapeutic Service across West Sussex.
Provide operational line management to a team of staff which includes 1 to 1 line management supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles.
Lead on the recruitment, selection and induction of new staff.
Working with the leadership team, maintain strong governance and monitoring systems, ensuring a consistent, high-quality service and ensure professional standards are met and best practice implemented.
To act as the operational designated safeguarding lead for the CYP Therapeutic service and to maintain a learning environment where staff feel empowered to explore safeguarding issues, review the assessment of risk and identify cases for August 2025 escalation with appropriate actions taken. Ensure that staff are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk clients.
Plan, chair and contribute to team meetings that promote learning cultures, cascade information, and provide feedback mechanisms for staff on service delivery/developments.
Manage and have oversight of the referrals into the service and lead on the allocation and scheduling of new clients within the team.
About you:
Relevant professional qualification and significant experience in a related field, for example, Counselling and Art/Play Therapy.
Attained or actively working towards BACP Accreditation OR equivalent level.
Ability to gather and analyse information to enable evaluation of activity and inform service development.
Experience of project management.
Experience of writing reports to evidence working towards targets, to include key performance indicators (KPI's), impact of interventions and outcomes of assessment and review processes.
Experience of delivering therapeutic interventions to children and young people affected by parental alcohol and drug use.
A good working knowledge of research and evidence relating to the impact of problematic drug and alcohol use on children.
Experience of effective partnership working, relationship management, pathway and protocol development.
