Position Overview:

The Children and Young Persons (CYP) Wellness Lead will spearhead our initiatives targeting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people within the community. Based at the HAPPY Hub in Basildon and operating across the Borough, this role involves leading programs such as Well Kids/Youth Clubs, school holiday provisions, and counselling services. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team, partners, and commissioners to achieve organisational objectives and enhance the mental health outcomes for our youth.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:



Programme Leadership:

Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of Well Kids/Youth Clubs, school holiday programs, and counselling services, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of children and young people. Consultation and development of new CYP programmes.

Strategic Collaboration:

Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to set and achieve targets aligned with organisational goals, partner expectations, and commissioner requirements.

Team Leadership:

Lead and support a team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.

Resource Management:

Build and oversee the allocation of resources, including budgeting and scheduling, to ensure efficient programme delivery.

Promotion:

Communicate with the wider team to ensure success of CYP Provisions. Utilise mixed marketing to promote CYP provisions. Attend meetings in line with potential partners and funder. Build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, community groups, and other stakeholders to promote our services and identify emerging needs within the community.

Safeguarding:

Act as Safeguarding Lead, ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment for all participants. Maintain regular safeguard training. Run DBS checks on workforce / volunteers as required.

Qualifications



Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children and young people Proven experience working with children in a wellness or educational setting Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required Background in childcare or related fields Proficiency in IT for maintaining records and communication

Pay: 24,673.56-27,000.00 per year
