Role Overview & Purpose
As the
Wrap-Around Care Manager
for our new school provision in Putney (4-11 year-olds), you will lead the daily delivery of our wrap-around care (before-school, after-school, and holiday camps) on site. You will be responsible for building and managing a team of coaches and supervisors, maintaining relationships with the school, ensuring safety, and creating a warm, structured environment where children can play, learn, and grow.
Your role will be pivotal in launching this new provision, shaping its culture, and embedding Munchkin's high standards into every aspect of operation.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
Supervise and develop a full-time Assistant Manager plus a team of casual / part-time coaches. Glassdoor+1
Create staff rotas, lead training, manage performance, and support career development. Glassdoor
Conduct coaching observations, feedback, and appraisals to maintain quality standards.
Daily Operations
Oversee day-to-day wrap-around care: plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities (sports, creative play, team games).
Manage attendance, registers, and compliance with school / Munchkin policies.
Ensure all health & safety, safeguarding, and risk-management procedures are followed. Munchkin Sports+1
Handle snack / refreshment times, transitions, and handover to parents.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (e.g., attendance, parent satisfaction, retention).
Ensure services meet Ofsted or other regulatory body requirements (as relevant). Glassdoor
Guarantee compliance with school safeguarding, child protection, and site-specific policies.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact with the school leadership team; build and maintain strong relationships.
Liaise with parents and carers: provide excellent customer service, address concerns, communicate updates.
Report regularly to Munchkin senior leadership on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Holiday Camps Management
During school holidays, step into the role of
Holiday Camp Manager
: deliver camps on site, plan daily themes, manage registrations, and lead staff teams.
Culture & Continuous Improvement
Embed the Munchkin Sports values of fun, inclusion, and development in your team.
Contribute ideas to improve the wrap-around care offering (curriculum, schedule, enrichment).
Encourage innovation, creativity, and best practices across sessions.
Team
You'll lead a team made up of:
Assistant Manager (full-time):
supports operational delivery and stepping in when needed.
Coaches (part-time / casual):
likely a mix of lead coaches and junior coaches trained in Munchkin's curriculums, responsible for delivering sport and play. Munchkin Sports+1
Support staff / supervisors
(e.g., for snack-time, transitions, creative play).
Your leadership will ensure all team members feel supported, motivated, and aligned with company values.
About you and your experience:
Leadership experience:
Proven ability to manage a team, rota planning, training and development.
Strong communicator:
Excellent verbal and written skills; confident in parent and school stakeholder interactions.
Customer-facing mindset:
Empathy, professionalism, and high-quality care for children and families.
Organised & proactive:
Excellent time management, ability to multi-task, plan ahead, and problem-solve.
Creativity:
Able to design and deliver enriching activities beyond just sport (arts, games, social play).
Safeguarding knowledge:
Understanding of child protection, health & safety, and regulatory frameworks.
Relevant experience:
Previous experience in wrap-around care, holiday camps, or similar children's provision preferred.
Education & checks:
Enhanced DBS check, safeguarding training, paediatric first aid (or willingness to train).
