We're recruiting compassionate Children's Care Workers to support children and young people (typically 0-18) with additional needs and/or disabilities in their home and community. You'll help them build confidence, develop life skills, and enjoy safe, engaging activities.
Key responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support in the family home and out in the community
Assist with personal care where needed (toileting, washing, dressing) while promoting independence
Support routines (meals, bedtime, medication prompts where trained/authorised)
Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities aligned to individual support plans
Use positive behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
Keep accurate records (daily notes, incident/concern reporting)
Work collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals
Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies at all times
What we're looking for
Essential
Caring, reliable, and confident working with children/young people
Great communication skills and a calm, patient approach
Willingness to travel across Hertfordshire (a car is helpful)
Right to work in the UK (No Sponsorship)
Desirable
Experience in children's care, SEND, short breaks, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or complex needs
Level 2/3 Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
Training in safeguarding, manual handling, first aid, epilepsy awareness, PEG feeding.
Driver with business insurance (if using own car)
