We are seeking a compassionate anddedicated caregiverr to provide high-quality support and assistance to children in need of care at home. The ideal candidate will have experience in various caregiving settings, including, childrens homes, supported accommodation, home care or assisted living facilities. This role involves helping children with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Role may include using hoists, PEG feeding and other complex needs related tasks. Children may also have behaviours that challenge.
Duties
Assist children with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and health related needs
Share our values of being trustworthy, honest, positive, and a good listener, to offer emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects
Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences
Willing to learn about positive psychology and PERMA tool to offer wellbeing support to each child
Follow company policies and procedures
Understand and follow CQC regulations
Take part in team meetings and supervision
Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
Develop and follow care plans tailored to individual client needs
Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and observations
Support clients with all health care, and behaviour management strategies
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Skills
Proficient in first aid techniques and emergency response
Experience in nursing home or care home settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care
Familiarity with hospice care practices is an asset
Strong understanding of senior care principles and practices
Ability to administer medication safely and effectively
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Capability in case management to coordinate services for clients' needs
Competence in meal preparation that caters to specific dietary requirements
Empathy and patience when working with individuals requiring assistance
