Our Service Users all have complex healthcare needs and therefore this candidate will be happy to undertake extensive in-house and online training. This person will be able to complete moving and handling tasks with ease and have a 'hands on' and 'can do' attitude.
We have an exciting opportunity to join an established team supporting a young child in Norwich to attend school during term times and support at home during school holidays
The Job Role:
Our Client lives with her Parents and sibling in a loving family home, she describes herself as a "typical girly, intelligent, Happy 6 year old girl who takes each day as it come" This role involves supporting her to attend Main stream school where she is reaching all her educational targets, as-well as supporting after school in her home.
Our client has a diagnosis of SMA type one (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) a rare genetic disease that effect the muscles in her body, meaning she is non-mobile and requires lots of moving and handling support, she has lots of equipment to support her with this including her 'pink' Tiny Trax wheelchair! Physio is a big part of her day and keeps her healthy, Full training on equipment and physio will be given, but knowledge around moving and handling would be an advantageous.
Nutrition intake is via Mic-key button knowledge of this invention would be great, however full training will be given on all interventions.
Our client loves everything pink, and enjoys 1-1 activities, role play games and playing with her dollies, We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children and is able to help with her morning routine before setting off to school (Full UK drivers license is essential as she has her own mobility vehicle) supporting her throughout the school day then driving home engaging with her and participating in these activities with her once the school day ends.
Interventions requiring completion during a shift will include Medication management, Nebuliser management, Mechanical cough assist, oral suction, Enteral feeding management.
Shift times
8 evenings per month 16.00-20.00
Plus Additional hours will be available for Holiday cover which will include attending school 07.30-16.30
Additionally a regular Tuesday 07.30 - 16.30 in the future.

Reporting safeguarding concerns
Excellent communication with the Nurse Lead and Care co-ordinator

Qualifications
Proven Paediatric care experience essential
Ability to manage medication administration
Valid driver's license for transportation needs essential
