Peachtree Support Services is a small, family-focused team opening a brand-new 3-bed EBD children's home, and we're looking for a warm, caring Children's Residential Support Worker to join us on this journey. As a close-knit staff group, we genuinely value the people who work with us and the nurturing relationships they build with the children in our care.
In this role, you'll be supporting young people in a homely, stable environment where their well-being, growth, and sense of belonging come first. If you're someone who is naturally compassionate, a good listener, and passionate about helping children thrive, we would love to welcome you into our home.
Within the role of a Children's Residential Support Worker you can make a genuine, long-lasting difference in children's lives while developing your own skills and confidence within a supportive team.
Duties
Support children with their daily routines, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for
Help put personalised care plans into practice, always focusing on each child's individual needs and goals
Take part in fun, engaging activities whether educational, creative, or recreational to encourage confidence and development
Provide transport for children when needed, ensuring journeys are calm and safe
Keep clear, accurate records of progress and any concerns, following our home's policies and guidance
Communicate openly with colleagues, families, and professionals, always keeping the child's best interests at heart
Help maintain consistent routines and a warm, supportive atmosphere that encourages learning and emotional stability
Be an active and positive member of the team, sharing ideas and working together to provide the best possible care
Skills & Personal Qualities
Experience working with children or in a care setting is highly desirable
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a willingness to work towards this qualification is essential
A full driving licence, with confidence driving children or vulnerable individuals, is preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting, respectful relationships
Understanding of care plans and how to support them in everyday practice
Basic IT skills for recording information and updating care plans
Kindness, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to see children flourish
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks calmly and efficiently
This role offers the chance to be part of Peachtree Support Services' warm and supportive new home, where every team member is valued and every child is given the opportunity to feel safe, respected, and encouraged as they grow.
