About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Manager to support our 3-bedded EBD home in Handsworth. This is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring Team Leader ready to step up or an experienced Deputy Manager seeking a supportive, values-driven environment.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the daily running of the home, ensuring excellent care, compliance with Ofsted standards, and the safeguarding of children. The role includes leadership of a small team, contribution to care planning, and participation in management tasks, with two office/admin shifts each week for administrative and professional development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Registered Manager with the overall management of the home. Lead, support, and inspire a small team to deliver high-quality care. Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children. Contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and staff development. Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and internal procedures. Participate in the on-call rota and complete up to 50 sleep-ins per year.

Essential Requirements

Experience in children's residential care; EBD experience is highly desirable. NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Full UK driving licence (automatic). Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Child-centred, proactive, and reflective approach. Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).

Desirable Qualifications

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
