Promote positive outcomes for children in all aspects of their care
Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
Help create a supportive and positive environment for each child with particular reference to safety, health & education
Provide leadership for the organisation, with responsibility and comprehensiveness in recruitment, training & supervision of the team
Lead, manage, and develop a team of care staff, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
To effectively manage placements & referrals, including developing and implementing individualised care plans for our children
To regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of each child's development, maintaining accurate records and documentation related to their care
To carry out audits to monitor and maintain quality standards against agreed criteria
Maintain full compliance with Ofsted's Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring readiness and robust evidence of good practice.
Manage resources effectively including budgets, buildings and equipment
Collaborate with families, caregivers and other professionals to ensure the wellbeing of all children under our care
Ensure the team are aware of the individual needs of all children and skilled to deliver the support required to ensure life chance opportunities and positive holistic development
Experience
As per regulation 28:
A minimum of 2 years experience in a position relevant to residential care of children (experience within the last 5 years)
At least 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (England)
A full, UK driving licence
Demonstratable knowledge of what is expected during Ofsted inspections
