Airah Care have an exciting opportunity for an OFSTED Residential Senior Support Worker to join a Children's Residential Home caring for children aged 6 -17 years in Norbury, South West London. Airah Care is dedicated to creating positive and measurable outcomes for every child in our care.

We are a "Good" provider of Children's service in Norbury, London, SW16.

The Vacancy



We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Senior Support Worker for out 3 bedded Children's home in Norbury that is registered with OFSTED.

The role will have the successful candidate with a dedicated team to provide care and support to the children and young people in our homes. Your role is crucial in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for their positive development.

As we are soon expanding for the right candidate there is opportunity to progress within the next 6 to 12 months.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Providing emotional and social support: Building meaningful relationships with the children and encouraging their interaction with peers and adults within the community. Enhancing self-esteem and respect: Helping each young person in your care develop a positive self-image and ensuring they feel respected and valued. Promoting positive life choices and independence: Supporting the children in making positive decisions and achieving levels of independence appropriate to their age and abilities. Accurate and detailed recording: Maintaining meticulous records of events, observations, progress, child protection matters, and health and safety checks. Care planning and assessment: Collaborating with the manager and other professionals to create, implement, and review individual care plans based on the children's needs. Conduct professional and supportive supervision with the team members. Interdisciplinary collaboration: Working closely with the health advisor, social workers, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each child. Involvement with families: Facilitating supervised contacts with the young people's families as necessary. Daily living support: Assisting the children with their daily living needs in accordance with their care plans. Domestic duties: Conducting household tasks and involving the children when appropriate, including planning, shopping, and preparing meals to ensure a varied and balanced diet. Taking lead on each shift to ensure the standard and quality of care we delivery is to high level.

Required Skills:



Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People's Workforce. At least 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting. Passionate about delivering a high-quality service that promotes the independence, choice and dignity of children. Good knowledge around Children's Homes Regulations including the quality standards. A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation and Ofsted regulation. Driving licence (preferable).
