Children's Residential Senior Support Worker

Pay

: 32,963.32 - 34,508.32

(inclusive of 2 sleep-ins per week = 5,200)

Annual Salary is inclusive of 2 sleep-ins per week at 50 each

Based in Heanor or Ilkeston, Derbyshire

Base rate starts at 13.69 per hour (27,763.32 a year) to 14.45 per hour (29,308.32 a year). Annual salary is based on an average 39-hour week and is pro rata for part time.

Annual salary uplift of 500 on successfully completing the first year in the role, further 500 salary uplift for completing the second year with further increments offered in recognition of experience or additional responsibilities to a maximum of the top of the band. (pro rata for part time).

About us

Smoothstone Care and Education provide safe, stimulating care and aspirational educational opportunities to children and young people aged between 11 and 18 with a range of complex speech, language and communication difficulties including autism. The young people may also have additional learning difficulties and display associated challenging behaviours.

We are looking to recruit competent, and passionate residential children's senior support workers:

Candidates will have at least 1 years' experience within a similar setting, a working knowledge of autism and will already hold a Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare or equivalent. Holding a valid UK driving licence is essential.
All successful candidates will be expected to display a commitment to promoting the safeguarding and wellbeing of our Young People.

Responsibilities

Provide personalized care and support to children with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist in developing and implementing individual care plans tailored to each child's requirements. Foster positive communication with children, families, and team members. Support educational activities that promote learning and development. Maintain accurate records of care provided and progress made. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive team environment. Uphold high standards of care consistent with company policies and regulations.

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children, especially those with special needs. Valid UK driving licence is essential. Knowledge of childcare practices and care planning. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of responsibility. Basic IT skills for record keeping. Relevant qualifications in childcare or related fields are desirable.

Positions

Full time (39 hours).

Shift Patterns

A combination of early shifts, late shifts and full days with occasional sleep-in duties. All positions include working some weekends and bank holidays.

Early 07:30-15:00 Late 14:30- 22.00 or sleep Full 07:30- 22:00 or sleep
