Duties
Support the Home Management to achieve and maintain an OFSTED rating of good or outstanding.
Ensure the day to day oversight of all areas of the homes' operations is adhered too and maintained.
Provide supervision, support and direction to staff.
Act as a positive role model and show children and young people how to live with integrity, optimism, hope, determination, and compassion.
Ensure appropriate and effective staffing at all times in line with the homes statement of purpose and individual child risk management plans.
To adhere to current legislation; Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015, Working together to safeguard children 2023, Local Authority procedures and the company policies and procedures.
To support the Registered Manager so that the physical and emotional needs of children and young people are protected, safeguarded and promoted at all times.
Work towards all areas of the children and young people's care and education and risk management plans.
Skills
Ability to manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager including allocation of duties and responsibilities, staff deployment, day-to-day supervision and oversight.
Have worked, within the last 12 Months, within a position relevant to the residential care of children and have managed challenging and complex situations.
Excellent verbal communication and written skills with staff, children, families, the local community and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage, monitor and improve performance in order to provide excellent services and to develop an effective team.
Ability to make informed decisions, give direction and lead by example.
Effective organisation and planning skills
Possession or willingness to work towards Level 4 Diploma in caring for children and young people, further to this and to enhance knowledge and experience the Leadership & Management Diploma level 5, Designated Safeguarding Lead Level 3 certification will also be supported..
