Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen interest in creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality for children. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, while adhering to food safety regulations. The cook position will be loan working in charge of the kitchen. A full DBS required. The cook will be required to cook a health home cooked meal at 12 and 4pm also with preparing simple snacks at 10am and 2pm.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Assist in the planning and preparation of meals, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of high quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure adequate supplies are available. Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety practices, to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and high customer satisfaction. Participate in menu development by providing input on seasonal dishes and specials.

Experience

Proven experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, with a focus on meal preparation and culinary skills. Ideally experience as a children's nursery cook. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. A passion for cooking and creativity in the kitchen will be highly valued.
