Job Description

Jets Nursery are looking for a SEN support worker. This position is to work alongside other staff in the room to provide additional support for a child with Special educational needs. The hours are 20 hours per week working between the hours of 8.45-3.15. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children with additional needs and someone who has at least a level two childcare qualification and/or experience in Early Years.

Your main roles and responsibilities will be:

To support the child on a daily basis, encouraging them to follow our routine Plan and implement activities alongside the key person/SENCO Carry out one to one and small group work on a daily basis Produce observations and have a good knowledge of child development To meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene, whilst promoting independence To support the nursery's commitment on safeguarding children in all aspects of the nursery service To provide objective and accurate feedback and reports for parents and other professionals on children's achievements, progress and related matters To be proactive on the continuation of your own learning to improve the outcomes for children and their families To attend meetings as required and participate in training opportunities and performance development
This position is term time only to start from the first week in September until July 2026
