The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home. You will be a strong role model for the staff team, uphold high care standards, and play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in leading and managing a team of Residential Support Workers
Support the Registered Manager in meeting all regulatory and Ofsted requirements
Ensure care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed
Act as a positive role model and mentor to staff
Help manage staffing rotas, budgets, and administration
Participate in the on-call rota and provide shift cover when needed
Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
Promote independence, emotional resilience, and positive outcomes for young people
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Essential
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards) - Desirable
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a children's residential setting
Experience in a senior or supervisory role - Essential
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted standards
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people
Full UK driving licence - Essential
