Job Description

The Children's Outreach Support Worker plays a key role in supporting outreach programs designed to engage and support children and families within the community. This role involves assisting in the delivery of outreach activities, providing emotional and practical support to children, and helping them access resources that promote their well-being, safety, and development.

Key Responsibilities:Program Support



Assist in the planning, setup, and delivery of outreach activities, workshops, and events for children and families. Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children participating in programs. Support children's participation in group activities, encouraging social interaction and confidence building.

Individual Support



Provide one-on-one or small group support to children who may need additional help or attention. Offer practical and emotional support to children and families facing challenges (e.g., poverty, domestic issues, learning difficulties). Help families connect with local services and resources as needed.

Communication & Relationship Building



Build trusting and respectful relationships with children, parents, carers, and community members. Maintain regular communication with outreach coordinators, social workers, and other team members regarding children's needs and progress. Promote children's outreach programs within the local community to encourage participation and awareness.

Record Keeping & Reporting



Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, participation, and any concerns or incidents. Report any safeguarding or child protection concerns promptly according to organizational policy. Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts to improve outreach services.

Qualifications & Experience:



Experience working with children in a support, care, or educational setting. Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and the challenges faced by vulnerable children and families. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. [Preferred] Relevant qualifications in childcare, youth work, social work, or a related field. [Preferred] Knowledge of local community resources and services.

Additional Requirements:



Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends for events and outreach activities. Enhanced DBS (or equivalent background check) required. Commitment to child safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Pay: 13.25 per hour
