Registered Manager
to lead one of our children's residential homes in Fullwood, Preston. Our homes provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for young people to thrive.
Heatherway is a 3 bedded home based in a quiet residential area of Fullwood, Preston, offering placements for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Staffed 1:1 during the day with a Waking Night and a Sleep through the night, the home follows our therapeutic model of support based on Kim Goulding's 'Secure Base'. Currently rated Good in all areas with Ofsted, the home has been open for a year now and we are looking to recruit a new Registered Manager to lead the existing team into the future.
About the Role:
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring it meets the highest standards of care and compliance in line with Ofsted regulations. You will lead a committed team, promote a child-centred approach, and ensure that the children and young people in your care are supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of residential care staff
Ensure the home operates in line with all legislative and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards
Promote a safe, caring, and supportive environment tailored to individual needs
Develop and maintain strong care plans and risk assessments
Oversee recruitment, staff training, supervision, and development
Build positive relationships with children, families, local authorities, and external agencies
Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of care
Requirements:
Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards completing this
At least 2 years' experience managing a children's residential setting
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
A clear DBS check (enhanced) and suitable references
