About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead our 4-bedded children's residential home in Wigan. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children while leading a small, supportive team in a family-like environment.

Key Responsibilities
Overall management and leadership of the children's home
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations 2015
Lead, manage, and supervise the staff team
Develop and implement tailored care plans for each child
Maintain high safeguarding and child protection standards
Effectively manage budgets and resources
Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings
Liaise with social workers, families, and external professionals
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections
Create a positive, nurturing environment for children
Handle complaints, incidents, and emergencies professionally
Essential Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years' experience in children's residential care
Previous management or senior experience in a children's home
Knowledge and experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Learning Disabilities (LD)
Thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards
Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children
Enhanced DBS check
Desirable Qualities
Currently registered or previously registered with Ofsted as a Manager
Experience managing Ofsted inspections (Good or Outstanding ratings)
Knowledge of therapeutic approaches to care
Understanding of trauma-informed practice
Experience working with children with complex needs or challenging behaviors
