About us
Smoothstone Care and Education provide safe, stimulating care and aspirational educational opportunities to children and young people aged between 11 and 18 with a range of complex speech, language and communication difficulties including autism. The young people may also have additional learning difficulties and display associated challenging behaviours.
We are looking to recruit competent, and passionate residential children's support workers:
Previous experience in residential childcare is desirable but is not always essential.
Holding a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care is desirable; however successful candidates will complete the Level 3 Diploma as part of their role, with full support and training provided.
Holding a valid UK driving licence is essential.
All successful candidates will be expected to display a commitment to promoting the safeguarding and wellbeing of our Young People.
Responsibilities
Provide personalized care and support to children with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Assist in developing and implementing individual care plans tailored to each child's requirements.
Foster positive communication with children, families, and team members.
Support educational activities that promote learning and development.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and progress made.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive team environment.
Uphold high standards of care consistent with company policies and regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience working with children, especially those with special needs.
Valid driving license preferred.
Knowledge of childcare practices and care planning.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.
Basic IT skills for record keeping.
Relevant qualifications in childcare or related fields are desirable.

Shift Patterns
A combination of early shifts, late shifts and full days with occasional sleep-in duties. All positions include working some weekends and bank holidays.
Early 07:30-15:00
Late 14:30- 22.00 or sleep
Full 07:30- 22:00 or sleep
