About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Shift Leader to join our dedicated team supporting young people in a nurturing and therapeutic residential care environment.
As a Shift Leader, you will play a key role in leading the team during your shift, ensuring the home runs smoothly and that young people receive the highest standard of care and support. You will act as a role model for staff, promote positive routines and relationships, and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and care staff during allocated shifts.
Ensure daily routines and support plans are followed effectively.
Complete and review all required paperwork, reports, and records to a high standard.
Conduct thorough handovers between shifts to ensure effective communication.
Safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of young people at all times.
Support and guide staff, providing supervision and mentoring where required.
Work closely with the Registered Manager and senior team to uphold the home's policies and ethos.
Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally.
About You
Experience working in a residential childcare setting (essential).
Minimum Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
A caring, resilient, and child-centred approach.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
