Haven Residential Care is a Childrens Home located in Barking. We are agile, and our goal is to support children to achieve their full potential. Our recent OFSTED inspection in July 2025, rated us 'GOOD' in all areas. We are looking for Full Time staff to work a core rota.

Haven Residential Care are looking for 3 people to join the home on a full time/Part time and flexible basis.

Do you have experience as a Support Worker for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties? Do you have at least 1 year experience in supporting Children and young people in a residential setting? Do you have an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or would you like to be supported to obtain this whilst working?

Haven Residential Care have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking to recruit driven and passionate Support Workers who have a passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.

The residential support worker has key responsibilities:

To Safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people in our care.

Support with daily routines and their identified needs. Support the overall experiences and progress of the child/young person.
Work effectively in a team.
Be a positive role model and ensure that values and objectives of the homes are upheld.
Be confident and ensure that the children/young people in our home are respected and included in the daily planning of their lives.
Have effective strategies for dealing with high levels of personal stress and seeking support at the earliest opportunity.

Person specification:

Experience of working with young people aged 08-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties
Experience of preparing monthly reports.
Willing to undertake frequent training as and when identified.
Understanding of the safeguarding legislation and the duties we have to the children and young people in our care.
First Aid trained (or willing to be trained)
Strong interpersonal and multi tasking skills
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Character demonstrating honesty, decency and integrity
Conducting themselves and working consistently in a professional and confident manner
Have a caring disposition with a warm empathetic personality
Positive attitude, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills.
The ability to cope with and remain calm in very challenging and demanding situations?Resilient, reliable and punctual
Commitment to on-going personal development
Competent cook with the ability to prepare a variety of healthy nutritious meals and willingness and ability to learn new and culturally diverse dishes including, Halal, Kosher, vegan, vegetarian, meals including: seafood, fish, poultry, meat and pork
Qualifications:

Driving Licence Desirable
NVQ Level 3 Children's Service Required, or happy to work towards.
Experience working with children is essential.
Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour
