We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Residential Support Worker

to join our team in a

solo children's home

, providing care and support to one young person with emotional and behavioural needs (EBD).

This is a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's life - offering one-to-one support within a stable, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where they can feel safe, valued, and understood.

Key Responsibilities



Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support to children and young people. Support young people with daily routines, education, health appointments, and social activities. Build positive and trusting relationships to help develop self-esteem, resilience, and life skills. Promote safeguarding and wellbeing in line with policies and statutory requirements. Implement positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies. Maintain accurate records, care plans, and incident reports. Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, families, and external agencies. Participate in shift work, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.

About You



We're looking for people who are:

Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping young people succeed. Resilient and able to manage challenging behaviours calmly and professionally. Reliable team players who can also work independently. Confident communicators with good written and verbal skills. Flexible to work a range of shifts, including sleep-ins.

Essential:



Previous experience working with children or young people in a care, education, or support setting. A genuine passion for improving young people's lives.

Desirable:



Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it. Full UK driving licence.
