As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and care to children, ensuring their well-being and supporting their development. You will be responsible for implementing care plans and facilitating activities that promote learning and growth. This position requires excellent communication skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
Duties
Assist children with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
Implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Support children in educational and recreational activities to enhance their learning experiences.
Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive support network.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur.
Drive to various locations as required to provide support or attend meetings.
Utilise IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Working Pattern
The rota works on a 6 week cycle, based on a continuous rolling rota covering all days of the week. 3 teams of 2 people cover the shifts.
You will work 2 and a half days, followed by 3.5 days off, example as follows:
Shift 1 - 10am to 10pm
Shift 2 - 6.30am to 10pm
Shift 3 - 6.30am to 10am.
You will then have 3 full days off, before working the same pattern again.
Within the 6 week cycle, it includes 2 full weekends off.
Sleeps are paid at the equivalent rate of 45 per sleep and are included within the salary offered.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with children is essential.
Understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Strong communication skills to engage with children and their families.
IT proficiency for record keeping and reporting tasks.
A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between locations.
A background in childcare or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
Full UK Driving Licence
