We therefore feel that it is vital they receive therapeutic parenting surrounded by warmth, empathy and understanding, alongside boundaries and fair expectations. Our children and young people are at the centre of everything we do and everything we are. Our service currently caters for children and young people from the age of 6 to 17years old and can accommodate up to 3 young people with emotional and behavioural challenges.

This position is for someone who truly cares about the lived experience for the young people and who wish to make a difference to their lives. We very much focus on providing our young people with the therapeutic environment that they each deserve.

As a therapeutic support worker, you will be the face of the company and the one who can truly make a difference to the young person's life. You will be expected to provide care to our vulnerable children and young people. This may include supporting them to develop self care skills, attend medical appointments, access their education, maintain contact with their family members including potentially supervising family time or transporting them to it. You will also need to support the child or young person to develop their social interactions as well as providing them with opportunities to experience multiple hobbies and interests, be a listening ear for them, provide guidance and advice and generally help them to have fun and provide them with happy memories and experiences.

For this position it is essential that you have:



- A minimum of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent, or be willing to undertake this qualification.

- A minimum of 12 months experience within a residential setting or experience of working with children and young people who have suffered trauma would be desirable.

- Basic computer skills, such as using Word, Excel, Outlook etc. (Training will be provided on our specific care programme.)

- A genuine desire to improve the outcomes for children and young people.

- An understanding of Safeguarding principles and child protection legislation.

- Good understanding of the Quality Standards, Care Standards Act 2000 and Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015.

- is able to see behaviour as communication and have a curiosity around what the child may be trying to communicate.

- has an ability to connect, develop relationships, be light hearted and fun whilst still maintaining those professional boundaries with children and young people.

- Has knowledge of the impact of adverse childhood experiences on young people.

- can work as part of a team that is fun, diverse and supportive.

- Is willing to have all necessary checks carried out, including completing an enhanced DBS check.
