If you are motivated to help children achieve independence, then this may be of interest to you. This opportunity is for full time & part time, available for those who want a little more flexibility.

As a member of the team, you will create positive relationships with our children in order to meet their various needs, taking responsibility as a support worker. You will learn how to work effectively as part of a dedicated team and be proactive and consistent in your approach to safeguarding and supporting our children through active engagement in their daily routines and activities.

Role Description:



Work will be based on the children's needs, your characteristic and relevant experience. Tailoring keywork sessions to the needs of the children. Whether that means supporting them in accessing education, work and improving their independence skills (i.e. cooking, managing money, safety awareness, fire, etc). Attend Mandatory Staff meetings as well as LAC meetings and Placement planning meetings. Reporting and Recording Weekly and monthly reports when required and sent off to the child's social worker or probation officers.and attending their appointments, as neededLiaise with management, the Senior Support Worker, and other professionals to further support the child Support the child in booking and attending their appointments, as needed. Staff should give professional handovers to staff taking over and also highlight their completed tasks that have been allocated for them such as on-going activities and appointments for the children to be supported accordingly. It is important for a support worker to support children with complex and challenging needs, communication skills, empathy and compassion, patience and resilience (such as the capacity to mentally manage difficult situations) A Support Worker with attributes such as empathy, nurturing, and caring is essential not only for establishing the relationship but also for maintaining it over the long term. Assist the child with day to day living

Skills Required:



Communication skills. Empathy and compassion. Experience of working with children Being resilient and patient when managing difficult situations. Acting as a positive role model for the children. Reporting and recording. Engaging and promoting the development of children. Effective working with children and team. Emotional support/ listening skills.

Requirement:



Relevant Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice/ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce/ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. At Least 1 year experience working with looked after children, or similar sector experience with the relevant age group. Flexible Availability
