The Role
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care and support of children and young people. You'll provide emotional and practical support, act as a positive role model, and help create a warm, safe environment where children can thrive.
You will work as part of a dedicated team to implement individual care plans and ensure every young person feels heard, valued, and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
Provide high-quality care in line with each child's care plan and individual needs.
Promote independence, education, and life skills.
Support children through challenging emotions and behaviours using a trauma-informed approach.
Encourage participation in activities, routines, and community life.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and meetings.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
Work flexibly as part of a rota including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
About You
Genuine passion for supporting children and young people to reach their potential.
Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (residential experience desirable but not essential).
Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Resilient, caring, patient, and committed to providing consistent support.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
