Children's Residential Support Worker - New Solo Home (Oldham)
About Us
We are opening a brand-new children's home, designed for a single young person with emotional and behavioural challenges. Our mission is to provide a therapeutic, trauma-informed, nurturing home environment where consistency, safety, respect and emotional support are at the centre of caring. As part of this development from day one, you will help shape the ethos and daily life of the home.
We are committed to delivering care that fully meets the Children's Homes (England) Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards. These expectations provide us with a clear and supportive framework to ensure young people are safe, valued, and able to thrive.
Role Summary
As our Residential Support Worker, you will provide daily care, emotional support and therapeutic nurture to one young person. You will help establish routines, support social, emotional and life-skills development, and create a stable, caring, home-like environment. You will work with external professionals (social workers, therapists, education providers) to deliver personalised support, respond calmly in moments of crisis or distress, and maintain clear safeguarding and care records in line with statutory standards and quality regulations for children's homes.

Flexibility to work the rota: 3 day shifts + 3 sleep-in shifts.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred (to support transport and community-based activities).
Previous experience in children's residential care, or working with children/young people with EBD or trauma, or willingness to learn.

A commitment to safeguarding, dignity, respect and child-centred care values.

The chance to join and shape a new children's home from its beginning.
A meaningful, rewarding role where you can make a real difference to a young person's life.
Full training, and support toward recognised qualifications.
A supportive, values-driven workplace culture focused on therapeutic care and high quality standards.
Clear opportunities for career progression as the home grows.
