Location:

Wakefield, Barnsley and Leeds.

Please only apply if you have direct experience working in a childrens support service.

Pay:

From 13.00 per hour (with opportunities to increase depending on experience and shifts)

You will be required to travel between 3 sites across Wakefield, Barnsley and Leeds so it is essential you are a driver.

Shift Patterns:

8:00am - 8:00pm (Day shifts) 8:00pm - 8:00am (Night shifts)

About the Role

We are recruiting passionate and reliable

Children's Residential Support Workers

to provide

one-to-one support

for a young person with

SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)

in a residential home in Barnsley.

This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in building positive relationships, promoting independence, and supporting the young person to develop life skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Providing

one-to-one care and support

for a young person with SEMH needs. Building strong, positive relationships and acting as a role model. Promoting independence, routines, and personal development. Supporting with education, daily activities, and emotional wellbeing. Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and professional way. Maintaining accurate records and safeguarding the welfare of the young person at all times.
Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a residential or SEMH setting. A caring, patient, and resilient nature. Flexibility to work both day and night shifts. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable but not essential). Enhanced DBS (can be arranged if not already held).
