Halliwell Homes is clinically informed practice encompassing educational, clinical and residential care services. Our objective is to enhance the psychological wellbeing of children within the care system through our Restorative Parenting Recovery programme.

As a Therapeutic Parent Waking Night, you will be responsible for the running of the home throughout the night. You will complete duties involving premise checks to ensure the home is a safe and secure environment. The postholder will complete domestic duties throughout the night to support the shift lead for the following morning and undertake paperwork/record keeping duties. You will be supporting and assisting onsite managers, clinical and education teams to provide tailored psychological recovery programmes for each child. The postholder will provide handover updates to the staff each morning. The postholder will maintain a therapeutic, safe, healthy, and homely environment at all times to meet Ofsted's Quality Standards.

The main responsibilities for the role will include:



To work very closely with the Senior Therapeutic Parents and Management to ensure the running of the home is to a high standard meeting Ofsted Quality Standards. To contribute to the development of the child through the provision of a therapeutic home environment and being a committed and consistent adult role model. To provide warmth and care for our children, and undertake tasks that are not be related to care ie laundry, cleaning, ironing etc daily and ensure there is written record of the tasks completed. To follow the children's care plans and risk assessments and carry out job role in accordance with Halliwell's childcare policies and procedures at all times. To understand and adhere to all policies and procedure within Halliwell Homes and the Homes Standard Operating Procedures. To complete and comply with all risk assessments in place and update, where required. To ensure all the household log books and records, including c sheets and daily records, meet Health and Safety requirements and updated and maintained to standards as required by Ofsted. Keep a waking night record and other detailed records as required relating to the care and support provided to the young person. To ensure all accidents (including children, employees and third parties) are recorded immediately using the correct forms and notification procedures. To refer to risk assessments and individual child plans and understand the content of these including in relation to away from home activities, trips and visits. To participate in staff handovers before commencing or leaving a shift engaging in a thorough handover to ensure staff can take over a shift safely. To apply Positive Behaviour Management / de-escalation strategies to control the behaviour of the children and participate in physical interventions only as a last resort, where required.

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:



Must hold GSCE English and Maths (Level 4-9) Ideally hold a Degree in Psychology or child related studies Ideally hold or willingness to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
