About the Role:



We are seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our dynamic, innovative and diverse team to provide care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.

As a Support Worker, at Branch Out Residential Services your skills and expertise will have the opportunity to make a positive, transformative impact on young people. Through mentoring and supporting young people to develop holistic life skills, participating in activities, helping with homework and being a positive role model.

We aim to improve young people's self-esteem so they believe in themselves and feel confident enough to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Responsibilities



Implement care plans and provide support to children/young people Utilise experience in working with children/young people to support individual and group needs and interests Write detailed logs and reports on children's/young people's wellbeing, progress and development Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting Assist with the day to day running of a children's residential home Implement a "Child Centred Approach" that prioritises equality, rights, inclusion and listening to children's wishes and feelings Accompany children/young people to appointments or outings when necessary Communicate effectively with service users, families, and colleagues

Requirements



Previous experience in working with children/young people (minimum of 1 year) Genuine commitment to supporting Children/Young People to achieve their full potential Have the resilience to cope with challenging behaviour and circumstances Can build and maintain professional relationships with young people based on trust and respect and be able to motivate them to encourage their independence Have high personal and professional standards Ability to communicate (written and verbal) empathetically, effectively and professionally with various children/young people, families, colleagues and professionals A willingness to learn and undertake any necessary training to undertake your role and commit to your "Continuous Professional Development" (CPD) Proficiency in IT for documentation purposes Flexibility to undertake shift work, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, sleep-ins.

Desirable



Level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce Diploma or a willingness to work towards the qualification Experience of working with Children/Young People in a Children's Residential Setting A valid driving license to assist with transporting children/young people

Recruitment Process


At Branch Out Residential Services,

we are wholeheartedly committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

The recruitment process aims to create and maintain a safe workforce and contains

robust

vetting procedures.

Applicants will ideally already be on the DBS Update Service; if this is not the case Branch Support Residential Services will carry out a DBS (police) check prior to starting and if appointed 6 monthly checks.

The successful applicants will be only be appointed subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS checks



Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Day shift Monday to Friday Night shift Weekend availability
