Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker


Location:

Cloughwood Academy, Hartford, Cheshire

Contract:

Permanent, Term Time Only (39 weeks per year)

Hours:

37 hours per week

Working Days:

Monday 1pm - 9pm, Tuesday to Thursday 2pm - 9pm (including up to 2 Sleep-In duties per week on a rota basis)

The Role:


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team. This pivotal role involves supervising, motivating, and developing our Residential Support Workers to ensure the best use of staffing resources and the highest standard of care. You will contribute to the educational care planning process, support pupils in their daily activities, and assist in organising enriching recreational activities. Effective leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow and implement care plans are essential.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and support the residential care team to deliver high-quality care and support to pupils. Allocate and prioritise workloads within the care team, ensuring effective use of resources. Act as the prime professional for assigned pupils, contributing to assessment, planning, implementation, and review of educational care plans. Facilitate and deliver recreational and learning activities, ensuring risk assessments consider pupils' needs. Liaise with parents, professionals, and external agencies to coordinate support and resources. Administer medication and maintain compliance with school procedures and statutory requirements. Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the Headteacher. Promote a warm, nurturing, and structured environment conducive to pupil development. Pursue ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance competence.

Person Specification:



NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is essential, or a strong willingness to work towards this. Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow care plans meticulously and respond to individual needs. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
