Assessment and Reunification and Pre-Birth Team





An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced, skilled and child focused social workers to join our expanding assessment team within the Edge of Care Service in Sheffield.



Our focus is to work alongside fieldwork teams to provide in depth parenting, reunification, Parent Assess and pre-birth assessments with the families of children considered to be on the edge of care or those being cared for outside of their family who could return home.



Our assessments have an emphasis on risk, parental capacity and capability to change whilst ensuring the child/ren is central to any recommendations made.



In light of the complexity of the assessment work required previous experience of undertaking structured, in-depth assessment work and court work with a clear focus on timescales would be beneficial.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.



If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide pay slip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
