About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced
Senior Support Worker
to join our dedicated team in a children's residential home based in
Redditch
. This is a key role, supporting young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, and helping to create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where they can thrive.
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll be a role model for staff and young people alike, leading by example and supporting the day-to-day running of the home. You'll work closely with management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to young people, promoting their safety, development, and well-being
Lead shifts, support junior staff, and ensure consistent practice across the team
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory standards
Build positive relationships with young people, staff, families, and external professionals
Support with the development and training of the staff team
Requirements:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
Experience working in a children's residential setting - minimum 1 year in a senior or shift lead role preferred
Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and behaviour management
Confident, calm, and resilient with excellent communication skills
Full UK driving licence - essential
