Job description
Sheffield's contextual safeguarding service (Amber) works in collaboration with South Yorkshire Police and other key community safety partners and is a service for children who are being exploited. We offer a specialist service to children and young people who are victims or at risk of child exploitation, this includes child sexual exploitation, child criminal exploitation, human trafficking, and modern slavery.
We seek experienced social work qualified at degree level and Social Work England registered social workers to join the team and have a number of vacancies at Senior Social Worker level.
You will have the ability to manage a complex and varied caseload, whilst also offering support to all members of the team. You will be resilient, adaptable, and capable of working effectively as a strong team player who values the strength of working in a person-centred manner.
You will bring a diverse range of skills and will be able to demonstrate a flexible approach and clear understanding of child exploitation as well as being motivated to work within this specialist area. We are seeking individuals who can work in a multi-agency and community setting, liaising with a range of external and internal partner agencies including more senior levels from social care, the Police services and Health. The role entails safeguarding vulnerable young people from child exploitation and helping them to rebuild their lives as well as enabling parents to contribute and be part of safety and disruption plans. Experience in engaging hard to reach young people and delivering training sessions are necessary skills.
You will hold a caseload of children at risk of CE. The posts would be ideal for practitioners who are ready to take their social work career onto its next stage or for those who want to take their first step towards a management position.
