Children's Support Worker



Do you have the passion, drive and initiative to deliver a range of age appropriate activities & services to children between 0 and 5 years old? You will be working with children who have been witness to, or victims of, domestic abuse now living with their parent, in our refuges & dispersed properties in the Bradford and Keighley areas.

About The role



As a Children's Support Worker, you will be supporting families with children aged 0-5 years living within our temporary supported accommodation. You will work in a trauma informed way, with a holistic think-family approach, helping to identify support needs and creating individual support packages to safeguard and reduce the risk of further harm, and achieve positive outcomes. You will work with partner agencies in a collaborative way and create positive working partnerships to enhance the support offer to our children and young people. In this challenging but rewarding role you will advocate and be the voice for our children and young people, ensuring they have an increased sense of safety and wellbeing.

About you



We are looking for someone who has experience of working with vulnerable families and children. Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to work with parents and young children. You will have a professional can-do attitude and the passion and drive to help children to feel safe, gain confidence and overall wellbeing in their daily lives and feel empowered.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a trauma informed way, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a patient and friendly approach. You will be able to work on you own initiative and in partnership with colleagues and external agencies. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities. We are looking for someone who can think outside of the box, be creative and bring a positive energy to help our children feel an integral part of our support service.

Women only - Due to the nature of our refuges being for women only, we can only accept applications from women under schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010

Full time, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 26,751 to 27,898 depending on qualifications. Fixed term for 12 months.
