Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people while advancing your career in residential childcare? Join the dedicated team at

Liberi Care

in Tottenham -- where your compassion, resilience, and commitment can help shape brighter futures for children facing emotional and behavioural challenges.

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a central role in creating a stable, nurturing home for children aged 10-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Guided by the Registered and Deputy Manager, you will deliver day-to-day care, emotional support, and structured routines -- while promoting independence, wellbeing, and personal development.

This is a dynamic and rewarding position offering long-term career development, reflective practice, and an opportunity to truly impact young lives.

Key Responsibilities1. Direct Care & Daily Support

Provide nurturing, trauma-informed care tailored to individual placement plans. Assist with daily routines including waking, personal care, mealtimes, and bedtime. Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and independence through meaningful interactions. Facilitate participation in education, recreation, and enrichment activities. Support with appointments (medical, social, educational) and external engagement.

2. Key Working & SMART Target Setting

Act as a keyworker for assigned children, holding regular 1:1 sessions (minimum fortnightly). Develop and track SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals. Liaise with the team and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt support accordingly. Use trauma-informed practice to tailor interventions to each young person's needs.

3. Safeguarding & Risk Monitoring

Remain vigilant to signs of abuse, neglect, or concerning behaviours. Follow safeguarding protocols and report disclosures or incidents immediately. Contribute to risk assessments and assist in implementing risk-reduction strategies. Respond appropriately to absconding, bullying, online safety, and other behavioural risks.

4. Domestic Responsibilities & Housekeeping

Maintain cleanliness and order in children's bedrooms and communal spaces. Support or lead on food shopping, meal planning, and cooking -- involving children where appropriate. Ensure hygiene, infection control, and food safety standards are met. Assist with laundry duties as required.

5. Record Keeping & Administration

Accurately complete daily logs, incident reports, and keywork summaries. Maintain clear, factual notes in line with Regulation 36 and data protection standards. Assist with medication administration records where trained. Contribute to effective, detailed shift handovers.

6. Supporting Education & Aspirations

Promote school attendance, punctuality, and engagement with homework. Encourage educational development and long-term aspirations. Liaise with schools and Virtual School Heads when needed. Support extracurricular participation and enrichment activities.

7. Professionalism & Teamwork

Collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality care. Model appropriate behaviour and mentor less experienced or agency staff. Attend and contribute to team meetings, supervisions, and handovers. Maintain positive relationships with professionals, families, and the wider care network.

8. Training & Continuous Development

Complete mandatory training including safeguarding, restraint, first aid, and health & safety. Participate in refresher courses and e-learning. Stay updated with relevant policies, procedures, and legislative changes. Actively engage in reflective practice and supervision. Maintain a personal CPD (Continuing Professional Development) record.
