Skylight Children's Homes are growing - and we'd love you to grow with us.
Following the success of Nova House in Stamford (rated 'Good' by Ofsted), we're opening our second therapeutic residential home, Aurora House, right next door. Both homes offer high-quality, nurturing care to young people who may have experienced adversity, disrupted attachments, trauma or loss. Many of the young people we support simply need safe, stable adults who will show up for them and offer consistent, meaningful support.
As we expand, we're recruiting
Therapeutic Care Practitioners
to work across both Nova and Aurora House (Aurora's registration date is to be confirmed). Staff may work in either or both homes depending on the needs of the young people and the service.
About the Role
This is a rewarding, relationship-based role where every day is different. You'll support young people with routines, emotional wellbeing, education and activities - helping them feel safe, empowered and able to thrive.
That might mean cooking together, going trampolining, attending a family contact or offering a calm, reassuring presence in a tough moment. What matters most is that you show up consistently, with empathy and integrity.
Shift Pattern
Typical shifts are 07:00-22:00, followed by a sleep-in (paid separately) and handover at 07:30
Full-time roles are usually worked across 2.5 days per week, on average
We avoid back-to-back shifts and build rotas to protect work-life balance
Shorter shifts (e.g. early or late) may also be available when required
Driving Requirement
Due to the nature of the role, a full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
To meet transport needs safely and flexibly, all staff must be either:
Over 25 years old (to drive the service vehicle), or
Willing to use their own vehicle with business insurance in place
