We are seeking a dedicated Counter Staff member to join our team in providing exceptional service in a bustling bistro/chippy environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash and card transactions with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous
- Strong time management skills to handle peak hours efficiently
- Basic knowledge of culinary practices and food preparation
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for order totals
- Familiarity with upselling techniques is beneficial
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices Job Duties:
- Taking customer orders accurately, both face to face, and over the telephone.
- Provide quality customer service.
- Cleaning duties - adhering to assigned cleaning duties
- Food Serving/Quality control management - adhering to food serving and portion control guidelines
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and following the rules of health and safety
- Undertake all training given both internal and external
- Following the operations manual/staff code of conduct to the letter
- Hot plate/Fryer duties/counter area - when required to cover busy periods
Qualifications / Experience:
Ideal candidates should have previous experience and shop based customer service and/or experience of working in a busy fast paced environment.
Level 2 Food Hygiene desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Hours:
Shift work. Shop hours are from 9-to 8.30 / 9.30pm. Must be flexible. Rotation of shifts is a key requirement.
