Job Title: Chief Elf - Glasgow Christmas Grotto 2025

Location: St. Enoch Square, Glasgow City Centre

Rate of Pay: 17.50 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary, seasonal

About the Role:

We are seeking a confident, organised and enthusiastic Chief Elf to lead our team at the Christmas Grotto in St. Enoch Square, Glasgow. The Chief Elf will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the grotto, supporting Santa and managing the team of elves to deliver an exceptional festive experience for children and families.

Work Dates and Times:

Thursday 20th November - 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd November - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th December - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st, Monday 22nd & Tuesday 23rd December - 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Please note: You will receive 30 minutes of paid dressing time, and are required to arrive at 10:15 AM to allow time for dressing, signing in and preparation before opening.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the team of elves throughout the event. Support Santa and assist with visitor flow through the grotto. Ensure the smooth running of all grotto operations and activities. Communicate effectively with management and staff to resolve any issues. Maintain a high standard of customer service and uphold the festive atmosphere. Help with opening and closing duties, safety checks and performance reports.
Requirements:

Strong leadership and communication skills. Previous experience in supervision, event coordination, or team management preferred. Friendly, professional and confident working with families and children. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Reliable, punctual and willing to work weekends and evenings in the lead-up to Christmas. Comfortable wearing costume and remaining in festive character during shifts.
