At Wandsworth Gymnastics School, we celebrate movement in all its forms--from traditional gymnastics and tumbling to contemporary disciplines like circus arts and callisthenics. Our goal is to provide diverse, creative, and empowering physical experiences for young people in a supportive and inclusive environment.

We're now expanding our programme and looking for a dynamic

Circus or Callisthenics Coach

to inspire, engage and challenge our athletes through creative strength, balance, and coordination work.

The Role

As a Circus or Callisthenics Coach, you will lead engaging classes that introduce children and young people to the power and creativity of movement. Whether your strength is in aerial silks, hand balancing, acro, strength flows, or bodyweight conditioning, you'll help participants build physical confidence, discipline, and expressive skill.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality classes in circus skills or callisthenics suitable for a range of age groups and abilities. Teach safe and progressive techniques in areas such as aerial apparatus, partner acro, strength-based movement, flexibility, or balance. Adapt sessions to support inclusion, safety, and individual development. Inspire creativity and discipline through movement. Maintain a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for all participants. Collaborate with gymnastics and tumbling coaches where needed for cross-discipline programming. Support performances, showcases or creative events when appropriate.

Essential Requirements

Relevant coaching or teaching experience in circus arts, callisthenics, acro, or a related movement discipline. A strong foundation in movement technique and safe progression practices. Excellent communication and class management skills. Up-to-date Safeguarding and First Aid certification (or willingness to complete). Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain). Passion for working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable

Qualifications or training in aerial, handstands, flexibility coaching, or movement arts. Experience coaching in community or school settings. Dance, gymnastics, or theatre background. Choreographic or performance experience.
