We are a small, family-run civil engineering contractor with a growing workload and a strong reputation for delivering quality projects safely and efficiently. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated
Site Engineer
to support our site operations and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects.
Role Overview
The Site Engineer will assist in the day-to-day engineering and site management activities across a range of civil engineering works. The role is site-based and will involve close collaboration with management, site supervisors, and the workforce. Some projects will require
night shift working
, which will be paid at an enhanced rate.
This position would suit a degree-qualified engineer with solid site experience who is looking to grow within a supportive, hands-on company environment.
Key Responsibilities
Setting out works using appropriate surveying equipment
Assisting with the planning, execution, and monitoring of site activities
Supervising site operatives and subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently
Allocating tasks to the workforce and putting men to work as required
Ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and health & safety requirements
Maintaining accurate site records, including daily reports and as-built information
Liaising with management, clients, and other stakeholders as required
Supporting quality control and ensuring works meet required standards
Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum
3 years' experience
working on civil engineering sites
Proven setting out experience
Proficient in
CAD
and Microsoft Office packages
Ability to supervise and manage site workforce effectively
Strong communication and organisational skills
Willingness to work night shifts when required
Full UK driving licence (essential)
