Salary: 34,000 - 36,000 (p/a dependant on experience)



Overview


We are looking for a proactive and safety-focused individual to oversee civils within the Erdington area. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and high-quality construction of the fibre network throughout Bristol area. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all civils and poling works, ensuring a smooth transition to cabling activities, and acting as the first point of contact for all digging operations. Key responsibilities include conducting civils pre-sites, feeding back permit requirements, maintaining accurate reporting to the back office, building strong relationships with local highway authorities, and upholding all safety and compliance standards across the network build.

Responsibilities



Liaise directly with HA and build relationships Liaise directly with suppliers to resolve onsite queries Ensure all works are completed on-time safely and within permit and quality conditions Carry out a minimum of 2 weekly safety checks Pre-site works and feedback to back-office including TM & timescales Create A55s on replans for works and feedback to back office Complete site passes for all completed works ensuring standard is met by suppliers Ensure all health and safety is met onsite and any near misses/ incidents are reported in the correct manner

Experience and skills



Civils experience on Openreach network (Essential) Telecoms Experience (Essential) Knowledge of Fibre build requirements (Desirable) Experience dealing with local authorities (Essential) Understanding of permit requirements (Desirable) Full Drivers licence Proficiency in Excel and Outlook Ability to maintain professional relationships to facilitate collaborations and build relationships Critical Thinker Excellent problem solving abilities Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner Effective time management and task prioritisation
