A rare opportunity has arisen to join our Claims department as a Claims Examiner. In this role you will be responsible for applying claims examination principles and procedures to ensure accurate examination of all cases and payment of all valid claims.



In this position your key responsibilities will be:



Examination of claims, including the assessment of documentation provided against policies held Processing all financial transactions in relation to claims and collections and ensuring accurate and timely assessments Attending meetings with customers and third parties in relation to claims related issues Monitoring and settling of recoveries and recovery costs Providing advice and guidance on loss minimisation, involving and liaising with legal representatives where necessary Participating in Group claims issues and testing Organising and delivering of training and presentations both internally and externally Contributing towards the development of claims policies and procedures.




Knowledge, Skills and Experience



The successful candidate will be required to manage relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Therefore it is essential that you have excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and are confident in your ability to negotiate. Attention to detail is important as you will be required to effectively analyse and interpret complex information. When making decisions you will take a solutions based approach. You will aim to find an appropriate balance between policy conditions/customer requirements (the grey area). You will be able to identify standard and non-standard customer solutions. The successful candidate will be well organised, able to prioritise and work well under pressure. You will be adaptable towards business needs and a team player but also able to work independently using your own initiative.

The ideal candidate will have:



Good product knowledge An excellent understanding of policy set up and ability to interpret its application Awareness of market conditions, the wider economic environment and the potential impact this has on the policy/customer Proficiency in Microsoft products Claims experience is desirable but full training will be provided to prepare you for this challenging role. In carrying out this role you will develop a strong understanding of the business which will equip you to work with other departments of the Commercial unit.
