Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled, ADR Vac Tanker Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our team in Barnsley. We require a day tramper driver who will be responsible for all vac tanker duties transporting liquids and waste materials across the UK. This position is Monday to Friday with the opportunity for weekend work. There is an opportunity for a permanent position if desired.

This role requires a strong commitment to safety regulations and excellent driving skills, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in compliance with all relevant laws.

This position pays breaks and time and a 1/2 on Saturdays and double time on Sundays, night out allowance is paid at 43.50.

Pay Rate

Inclusive of holiday pay:

16.00 for the first 3 months;

17.09 after 3 months;

Sat paid at time and a 1/2;

Sunday paid at double time;

Night out allowance is 43.50.

Duties

Operation of vac tanker lorry - transporting liquids and waste materials across the customers sites. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities and types of cargo transported. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and handling hazardous materials. Communicate effectively with planners, customers, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vac tanker lorry. Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as required.

Experience

Proven experience as a vac tanker driver desired. Valid HGV licence with appropriate endorsements for tanker driving ADR(Tanks). Experience in vac tanker driving is advantageous, particularly in waste management freight. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting liquid materials. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with delivery schedules and documentation.
